MONDAY, SEPTEMBER 19, 1960 SIXTEEN THE PADUCAH SUN- DEMOCRAT Four Are Killed As Truck Hits House CARBONDALE, Sept. 19 UP -A tractor -trailer from a roving carnival went out of control on a steep hill today, crushed an oncoming car and smashed into a house, setting it afire. Three adults and one child were killed. No one in the house--occupied by Thomas Moffitt, at 4 Canaan reported hurt. The fire, touched off by flaming gasoline, WAS under control within an hour.

Two adults and a child riding in the truck, and the driver of the automobile, were killed. There were no immediate identifications. The carnival played at the Wayne County Fair in Honesdale last week and was en route to a new stand. Canaan Street in Carbondale near the end of a long, narrow, twisting road down Salem Mountain from Honesdale. The automobile was registered to Edward Styles, Archbold, but police were not certain who was operating it.
