Anthony's Hospital, ST. PETERSBURG (By Staff Writer) yesterday reported no significant developments in the probe into the apparent murder of an 85-year-old woman Wednesday. The victim, Anna M. Hess, was found dead in her home at 633 11th Ave. with a single .32 caliber bullet wound in the forehead.

Police the screen of the back and theorized found, an intruder unlatched the door and walked through to the kitchen, surprising the woman as she sipped her morning coffee at the breakfast table. County Medical Examiner Dr. Robert Brewer determined death was caused by the lone bullet wound and noted she was otherwise unmolested. No murder weapon has been found, but police discovered an expended shell casing indicating the gun was an automatic. So far police are at a loss to explain any motive for the killing.

They said reports showed the house was not ransacked and nothing has been determined to be missing.
