Frontline Education is hiring, let me know if you're interested. You don't need support engineering background but they actually prefer a K12 Education HR Finance background.https://lnkd.in/gMkDtyMh

🌟 I was recently asked what skills are needed to excel 🚀 in the #compensation field. Here's a list of what I'd recommend: 📊 Advanced Excel: Most comp data will be delivered in Excel or CSV so the more you know, the better! 📈 Master key formulas like VLOOKUP, INDEX(MATCH()), AVERAGE/SUM, and IF statements. Don't forget those pivot tables! 🗓️ Advanced Program Management: You'll need to build and estimate timelines, collaborate cross-functionally, and skillfully assign tasks. This will be both for projects (e.g. range builds) and annual cadences (e.g. comp cycles). 📊 Advanced Presentation/Communication: you'll need to update peers/staekholders regularly, so know how to create executive summaries, high-level graphs, and charts. Understand how to use visuals to explain complex topics effectively! 📈 Basic Statistics: Get comfortable with concepts like statistical significance, basic survey design principles, and learn how to critically assess data aggregation models. 📈⚖️ Basic HR Law: You'll collaborate with legal teams, but it's good to have a grasp of the impact laws have on the data you work with. Key areas include FLSA requirements, local bonus laws, pay transparency laws, and long-term incentive laws (equity vesting rules). 🤔 Behavioral Economics: Explore what drives retention vs. performance. Discover insights from psychology on the differences between salary, bonus, and equity. These are just the skills I would want in my toolkit if I had to start over in compensation 🛠️ What other skills do you think are valuable in this field? Curious on others thoughts! 🗣️💼 #CompensationSkills #CareerAdvice #EmbraceLearning #comptech #hr #humanresources #humancapitalmanagement #talent #hrtech #compensationstrategy #compensationplanning #skills #learnatmyskill #learninganddevelopment #excel #exceltips #data #programmanagement #timemanagement #statistics #law #legal

In some recent conversations I've been encouraging people to not just focus on the "what" of their next career move but the "why".What: I like working in Excel and building spreadsheets for operations. But why? Because I like using my skills and knowledge to find insights that weren't seen before. But why? Because I want to add as much value to those around me and I often have an ability to find things others don't see in data. Now I have a broader ability to find fulfillment in career. I'm not just looking for spreadsheet work, now I'm looking at my skills and knowledge to see how I can help people. I'm also making sure to avoid areas where my skills and knowledge wouldn't add value (or add very little). For those that are in the early stages of your career I suggest you do the hard internal work to understand who you are and why you feel the way you do. Don't just focus on the "what", look for the "why".Without this knowledge you could get stuck just building out spreadsheets that no one even looks at... and no one wants to do that with the rest of their life. #WFM #careeradvice #nextsteps #coaching

I am at a point in my career that I am ready for a pivot. I am wanting to get into more reporting and query based work. How do I get practical hands on experience without practical hands on experience?

Speaking with many folks over the past few weeks, I have one consistent piece of advice that WILL make you adaptable:Master MS Excel: It's a skill for every job 🌟Excel isn't just for data analysts or accountants. In almost every job, from game development to marketing, being proficient in Excel can be a game-changer. 📊My son learned (during Take Your Kid to Work Day) that our game and combat designers use Excel regularly as part of their tool kit. Recruiters, finance, production, operations...every department has an application for this versatile tool. And it's more than just sheets; you can run some pretty cool things with Excel (and get to use Pivot Table puns :) )It's about more than crunching numbers; it's about organizing information, making sense of data, and even automating repetitive tasks. Whether you're analyzing trends, budgeting, or planning, Excel's versatility makes it a vital skill in your toolkit. 💼Invest time in learning Excel. It's not just an 'extra skill' – it can be the key to efficiency and insight in any role.#ExcelSkills #ProfessionalGrowth #EveryJobNeedsExcel #gamedev #recruiting #gamedevjobs #careeradvice #diversityequityandinclusion

Hello Folks,Just getting started with a random thought! These days most of us are behind the jobs, someone wants to switch to better opportunities, someone wants to get everything in short period of time and to be honest, yes I do feel the same and have the same feeling but these things are not happen over night but takes time. As said, Good things take time.So its true too. Completing a task properly and thoroughly the first time can help in avoiding a bigger problem later. So Be Patience and have trust in process.Anyways, I am just saying trust the process. I have the same feeling but believe in your potential and stick to the process of learning as this is the only asset that will help you in rest of your life. Short term achievements are not valuable in long term perspective. So here is the glimpse of our Day 1 of Learning Excel and also what things I am going to post with best real life examples (Real use).Content:We will start with...1. Formulas and Functions 2. Creating Charts and Graphics3. Advanced Excel features4. Analysing Data with Excel5. Programming Excel with VBAThese are some broad topics but we will dive in little depth (yeah its a long journey as said keep the patience and trust the process).I will try to follow a certain level in content, please do comment to share your thoughts for any improvement.Tip: You can't enter more than 15 Digits number in excel (Cell). Will tell you about this and its solution in next post.Stay tuned! 😊#keep_it_simple#data #learning #excel #dreamjob #smartwork #analytics #managment #patience #basics #proficiency #corporate #dailylearning #microsoftexcel
