📄 OpenAI’s DevDay 2025 will NOT be GPT-5’s announcement location. Why?? 📄While updates will be announced during the DevDay convention the next iteration of the popular model instead focusing on the API and developers. One expected change is a reasoning technique developed that potentially benefit the technology’s capacity to do mathematical calculations. However, an interesting statistic and potential reason for the lack of a GPT-5 release is the main focus of my sharing this article (https://lnkd.in/ebcCse-c). We could be seeing the result of regulations and copyright, reducing the training capabilities to the extent where a new version would not be worthy of the next iteration’s expanded knowledge bank.At the time of this posting over 35% of the top 1000 sites on the web now have restricted their sites from being used in training these models. Another research study being cited in the article states that with these restrictions in place, advancements in training will not be possible due to lack of materials between 2026 and 2032.Given this potential, what do you see coming from Lawmakers, AI, Data, and Privacy? Personally, I see the technology and its potential impact to the workforce and life outweighing the restriction in regard to training. Programmatically, it would be feasible to restrict the answer from exposing copyrighted materials while still being trained using it, although impact on speeds and other factors are why this is not a current solution. Leave your thoughts on where we are headed!

Good points, Aaron Lax! I see two possibilities:1️⃣ The release of GPT-5 might be disappointing due to the lack of training material, as you mentioned. GPT-5 may end up using AI-generated content for training, leading to inaccurate outputs. I also shared a post about this earlier (see source below).2️⃣ OpenAI might explore using synthetic data to address this issue for the GPT-5 release. One thing is certain: we need to solve the issue of the lack of training data by the end of 2026 if we want further advancements in AI.Source: https://www.linkedin.com/posts/michael-tchuindjang-38829317b_ai-models-could-devour-all-of-the-internet-activity-7210699712159465472-0APn

Restricting access to training data will undoubtedly slow down AI development. However, copyright infringement and data privacy are serious issues that can't be ignored. I'm curious to see how lawmakers approach this challenge.

I am interested in #syntheticdata It could be produced by generative AI to create synthetic data and revolutionize the need for business data for training and testing models. Businesses have lots of data but not the right data to support them. We live in a world of junk food data, not vegetables. I see opportunities to solve these issues.

The convergence of AI and blockchain technologies a reality?AI's ability to analyze and predict, combined with blockchain's transparency and security, opens up new avenues for innovation across industries. One standout example is ZeroGravity, a pioneering platform that seamlessly integrates AI and blockchain to offer a decentralized AI marketplace. The tool uses the blockchain to ensure data integrity and secure transactions. Combined with AI to enhance the decision-making processes within the platform. This innovation is particularly promising for industries like healthcare or finance, where data security and accuracy are paramount. It seems with the energy use of these technologies, technologists are looking for ways on how these two technologies can operate together, not overuse energy, and effectively make a better product for both.

Are LLMs leading Development down a Dead End to True Intelligence? In a recent paper, AI researcher, François Chollet asserts that current LLM development is a detriment to true attempts of achieving true intellect and thought from a digital framework. An interesting take on the subject, stating that current AI models represent more an intellect akin to memorization, and thus are not leading down a path capable of true creation and thought. Artificial Companionship and the Effect on the Brain 🧠 We have mostly focused on the interconnection between neuroscience and AI in that Artificial Intelligence needs to be analyzed in a similar sense, and it needs to be understood to produce the best results. We have spent much less time focusing on how AI interacts with our minds.Like Social Media there is an instant gratification aspect to AI. However, there is also an aspect to it that Social Media does the opposite of usually, and that makes this one even more interesting psychologically. As an AI is not going to do what a human would in a Social Media comment, 99% of the responses of an AI companion would good natured. This is likely to cause an even more positive brain response and thus potentially a more significant response neurologically if removed. We are just entering into this era, but we are already seeing something that must be watched as to ensure the effect does not cause harm.

☀️ Green Energy the costs, foreign competition..and Bankruptcy for a Huge Solar Panel maker, SunPower. ☀️After 40 years in the business, this giant in the solar industry is being forced to declare bankruptcy, after a statement earlier in the year that they would have to repay some lenders after a misstating earnings for 2023. Just a horrible business decision, after 40 years when solar is at it’s peak. While not a causality of the war for the top provider spot with other nation-states especially China, this closure will mark a significant mark on foreign competitions side. #solar #bankruptcyADDENDUM (Edit) While not my normal post the sheer size of this company, with the just absolutely horrid business decisions that brought about the closure in the midst of a solar expansion I thought was worth sharing.
