CHICAGO — Fests, fests and more fests are on deck this weekend. There’s Sangria Fest in Humboldt Park, the return of Latin American comedy showcase Antojitos Fest, the Bronzeville Jazz Festival, PorchFest in Roscoe Village, the Glenwood Avenue Arts Festival and so much more.

There’s also Latin Restaurants Week, a pop-up plant bazaar in a coffee shop, a stationary sidewalk sale and not one but two film fests related to movies about music.

Latin Restaurants Week

Kicks off Friday

Latin restaurants around Chicago

Through Aug. 30, Chicagoans can enjoy discounts and specials at Latin restaurants around Chicago, from Su Taqueria Thaly’s in Belmont Cragin to Birrieria La Tapatía de Ocotlán in Little Village to Savanna Restaurant in Lakeview.

Glenwood Avenue Arts Festival

6-10 p.m. Friday, 11 a.m.-9 p.m. Saturday, 11 a.m.-7 p.m. Sunday

The 23rd annual arts and music festival will take over Glenwood Avenue in Rogers Park. Friday’s festivities will feature a “cobblestone jam” on the brick-strewn street, while Saturday and Sunday will see artisan markets plus live music and food vendors.

Antojitos Fest

8 p.m. and 10 p.m. Friday, 8 p.m. Saturday

iO Theater, 1501 N. Kingsbury St. (Friday) and Logan Square Improv, 2825 W. Diversey Ave. (Saturday)

Antojitos Fest is a two-day Latin American comedy fest featuring improv, standup and comedic puppetry performances. There will be two shows Friday and one show Saturday, as well as performers from Chicago to Los Angeles to Mexico to Argentina.

10 a.m.-4 p.m. Saturday

Conrad Sulzer Regional Library, 4455 N. Lincoln Ave.

CHIRP Radio, a volunteer-led community radio station, is hosting a curated mini music film festival featuring movie screenings and music programming.

Back-2-School Summer Jam

10 a.m.-6 p.m. Saturday

CTU Center, 1901 W. Carroll Ave.

Students, parents, community organizations, educators, elected officials and more will be at this back-to-school event. There will also be a variety of supplies and services, like school supplies, book bags, health screenings and haircuts.

51st Street and Martin Luther King Drive

The 12th annual Bronzeville Jazz Festival is back this weekend with food, live music performances and more.

11 a.m.-5 p.m. Saturday

6300-6400 block of Ingleside Avenue; events will be around 6410 S. Ingleside Ave.

There will be speakers, awards, live entertainment, family activities and more at this community festival celebrating the 35th anniversary ofthe 6300-6400 South Ingleside Block Club.

Steep Neighborhood Block Party

Noon-6 p.m. Saturday

Steep Theater Parking Lot, 1044 W. Berwyn Ave.

This second annual block party at Steep Theater’s new headquarters will have a variety of games and activities for all ages, plus music, a dunk tank and the Taco Motora food truck. It’s hosted by Chicago storefront theater Steep Theatre.

Soul Liberation 3: A Frankie Knuckles Festival & Fundraiser

1-7 p.m. Sunday

Kenwood Gardens, 6929 S. Kenwood Ave.

The third annual Frankie Knuckles Festival and Fundraiser celebrates “The Godfather of House Music” and the genre itself. The fest lineup features established and emerging Chicago DJs, including Alan King, Duane Powell, CRTLZORA, Greg Gray and DJ K-Tea. The event is hosted in partnership with the Rebuild Foundation and Frankie Knuckles Foundation.
